Melinda received her B.A. in Biology with Minors in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of Illinois and her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Her previous substance abuse treatment experiences including working in private practice, intensive outpatient treatment programs, outpatient programs, crisis counseling, and interventions. She also has experience working with the criminal justice system. Her mental health treatment experiences include individual, family, children, and adolescent’s counseling and therapy with a variety of mental health issues. She bases her mental health treatment off of the subconscious mind framework in order guide you to achieve your goals.
She is extensively trained through EMDRIA in Eye Movement Desensitizationn and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, proven effective in reducing anxiety from trauma. She is also trained in biofeedback for multiple issues including reducing stress, anxiety, and worry. Issues she can address include: depression, anxiety, bipolar, stress, substance abuse, relationship issues, family issues, self esteem issues, post traumatic stress, and life coaching.
